Hope you got some good treats Tess. I've been sitting hopefully in the kitchen every time my mum is cooking, but she keeps ignoring my long meaningful stares!

I have a feling that Tess is not well. I recognise the look in her eyes from my Toby ten years ago at this time of year.
I do hope I am wrong. I wish you all strength to do what you can,and I am thinking of you.

Dear Sandra,
Thank you for your concern, and I am sorry to say that you are right. Tess is not very well right now. She has a growing tumour which is not responding to treatment any more, and all we can do is make sure she is comfortable and does not suffer.
Needless to say, we are going through a very difficult period right now.

I know you love Tess so very much, and the next period of time will be the worst time of your life, so I wish you all the strength in the world to endure it.
Do give Tess a big hug from me,and plenty of chicken - a Labrador never gets tired of chicken!
