Loch Google

We went exploring today, to find a lake that mom had seen when she was looking at our area with Google Earth. We went over fields and through gates and down muddy woodland paths and through shrubbery and across bridges. We went through a dark forest, and got stuck on a dead end path. But then we came upon the lake. Cool and still with birds swimming on it. I went swimming, too. This is where we are going to go again next summer.

Open that gate, please.

I got stuck in a muddy field.
Loch Google.

I went for a swim.

Shopping

This has to be THE best place in the world. Food everywhere. Shelves and shelves. I even found some dog biscuits on the floor, which I ate immediately, before someone else got them. And rabbits! Not just in cans, either.

Saturday Outing

We went for a little run down to the Clyde today. This is the Erskine Bridge. I met lot of other dogs there, a rowdy bunch they were. I held my own. Showed them my hackles.

So what?

When a dog needs to go, a dog has to go. I know we were just back from our walk when I relized I had not done anything yet. The neighbours' front garden is better for it than our own garden, so why all the fuss, dad? You really did not have to go there and pick it all up!

A Good Birthday

The three of us went for a long country walk over fields with scents of foxes, rabbits and last summer's horses and sheep, and there was a clear stream to paddle in.

This evening mom made me a birthday cake.

Birthday!

Zack, Jamie and Tess waiting for a treat.
Today I am nine years old. Yesterday mom baked home-made cheesy dogbiscuits from her new dog-bakery cook book. I think she should use that book a lot more than she does. This morning we took some with us on the walk to treat my friends.
I think there were whispers about a special outing this afternoon, and then I bet there will be something really good for dinner. I shall keep you posted!

Hunting Dog

Rabbit rabbit!!! Too fast for me. Too fast for mom's camera phone. Who catches the rabbits they put in the dog food cans?

Doggybag

When they go out for a meal they know that they should always bring back a bit for me in a doggybag. Today it smells like they have been to the Chinese restaurant. I must say I do prefer the Carvery.

Smells

A dog's sense of smell is a hundred times more powerful than humans', and what smells nice to us, such as fox pee and rotten fish, smells awful to them. Instead they like the smell of flowers. Whenever mom cleans the house there is this overpowering stink of lavender everywhere, and when she dresses up to go out she puts on a strong scent out of a bottle. But if I put on some of my favourite scent, what happens? I get washed.

Dancing Dog

There was this dog that won a competition on TV this evening. She danced backwards and forwards and in circles around her owner, sometimes on her hind legs only, she twirled a stick and then bowed gracefully to the audience. No wonder she won. My owners were amazed, "could we have trained Tess to do something like that?" they wondered. No way. I may be greedy, but there are limits to how far a dog will go for a biscuit. What did she say she used? She used a sausage? Ah, that is another matter. I would do the CanCan for a sausage.
